The intention is to park in the rear car park of Wendover Woods

There is a pdf document of the Wendover Woods site map, obtainable from the website.
http://www.forestry.gov.uk/pdf/WendoverWoodsDLJan2015.pdf/$FILE/WendoverWoodsDLJan2015.pdf
The second page has an internal map that shows the rear car park by the exit.

There are two ways to approach the rear car park.

1. Drive into Wendover Woods via the main entrance and drive along the internal road 'Forest Drive' for 2.5km, passing the cafe/main centre midway. Continue until you almost reach the exit after a 90 degree bend. The rear car park is on the left, flagged with an orienteering kite, just after a substantial barrier gate, 100m short of the exit to the main road.

2. Drive in the exit of Wendover Woods for 100m. This part of the internal road is two way traffic until the car park turning. Drivers leaving Wendover Woods will be surpised, be careful. After 100m turn right to the rear car park.

Confirmed from the forestry commission. The rear car park by the exit
gate is free of charge. Do not purchase a car parking ticket if you drive along Wendover's internal road to the rear car park.

Terrain:
Typical Chiltern woodlands with steep slopes and generally runnable beech and pine forest blocks, with a well-developed path network. Extensive forestry was carried out 12 months ago in several areas which may affect some areas. This work is resulting in brashings and log piles in the woods, along with new tracks where machinery has been driven into the areas being harvested. Transmitters have been located to avoid known areas of major work but there may be changes to the mapped vegetation.

Note that the tarmac road through the woods which the general public use is regarded as out of bounds. It is not marked on the map as a ‘forbidden route’ for clarity but is out of bounds to orienteers. It can only to be crossed at right angles;
Competitors must not run along the road or its verge, say within 3m.
Wendover Woods contains a 'Go Ape' Zip Wire area. Go Ape will be open during our event, and the relevant areas are marked out of bounds on the map, but competitors should be aware that there are low wires in these areas.

General:
Wendover Woods are extensively used by the public for walking, cycling and horse riding. Please be courteous towards other users and look out for bicycles and horse riders especially as you emerge onto paths and tracks.

Waterproof map A3, scale 1:10000, with 5m contours. Updated Autumn 2013 by Mark Thompson and minor modifications Spring 2015 by Robin Bishop.
